Meet Big Red
Big Red is a powerful Craftsman 27-Ton log splitter paired with a 208cc engine that can split wood both vertically and horizontally. It is specifically designed for splitting wood chunks that are up to 20" in diameter.
Fun Fact: The business got its name from using a little red chair made for children that is the perfect height for sitting in while splitting wood vertically.
Meet The Titan
The Titan is a Rugged Made 37-Ton log splitter paired with a 389cc Honda engine and a 6-way splitting wedge. It also has a hydraulic log lift that can pick up chunks weighing 300 pounds. Always horizontal, this splitter brings the wood to the operator.
This machine is geared toward chunks in excess of 20" in diameter. Since it can process wood faster than Big Red, it is well suited for flat rate Special Projects.
Wood Splitting Hourly Rate
$50.00 per hour for Big Red
$65.00 per hour for The Titan (or flat rate with Special Projects)
The wood splitting service can be performed by a single operator. On average, Big Red can take 2 - 2.5 hours to split one cord of wood (128 cubic feet when stacked), while The Titan can do a cord in almost half that time. Keeping in mind that there are many variables to take into account with those figures such as wood type, size and weight, this service does not have an exact time frame.
We will always work as efficiently as possible with wood constantly being loaded into the splitter. With the exception of refueling, the clock is off when the splitter is off. We work honorably to be as fair as possible.
The hourly fee covers the following:
- Operator & use of the equipment
- Transportation to and from your property (within 30 miles of Concord, NH)
- Any fuel used in completing the service
The "clock" starts when we begin splitting.
